Read Your Bible Like A Novel.

The Bible is not a novel. It is history, prophecy, poetry, and so very much more.
It is the true Word of God.

BUT, I say read it like a novel. When we read a novel, we pay attention to people, places and things. Sometimes we see a character introduced briefly, but we know he will show up later. We are watching for him.

When reading our Bible, we need to take note of names and places and symbols. We need to watch for them later.

In Genesis 6, we are introduced to the "sons of God." They show up later in Job. They even show up in Peter, in Tarterus. They show up many other places, too.

By reading with anticipation, like we read a novel, we will see many pieces fall into place. Our understanding will be increased and the Bible becomes more exciting to read.

Should Christians Use Musical Instruments In Worship?

The Jews did not use instruments in worship after the destruction of Solomon’s Temple. 
They consider the use of instruments in the synagogue to be wrong because they were specifically part of the temple worship. 

So for five hundred years before the beginning of the church, and for almost five hundred years afterward in the church, instruments other than the human voice were not used. 

If the apostles and the church of the first century did not use instruments in worship, then their controversial addition five hundred years later seems more and more like one of those additions made by men.

The Bible never requires instruments. Even if they were allowed in the temple worship, they were never required. I know of few people who would say that we can worship God by singing, but it must be accompanied by an instrument. Most would say it is acceptable to sing without them. If it is acceptable to sing without them, and possibly questionable to sing with them, then why not be safe and sing without them? 

If the Jews themselves would not sing to God with them, other than in the Temple, why should we?

The first fruits offering was when the Israelites brought a portion of the fruits that ripened first as an offering. These were looked on as a pledge of the coming harvest, which would then be tithed. The first fruits offering was NEVER the tithe.

This is just downright wicked. First, tattoos are in every way heathen. They are a sign of rebellion. Of course today, in America, it seems folks are rebelling and showing their individuality by conforming to the crowd, but that is neither here nor there.

As a Christian, I do not try to impose my beliefs on the unsaved. They can cut, mark and deface their bodies as they wish. They are accountable to God for their actions, but not accountable to me.

But, when folk who claim the name of Jesus deface the temple of the Lord, then yes, I need to speak out. Sadly so many pastors care more about the size of their congregation than they do about purity in the flock.

Many sins, not just tattoos and piercings, are condoned, and in this particular case, encouraged. The churches are filled with unwed mothers, who, rather than being reproved and restored after repenting, are just accepted without correction. Women dress in shorts, tight clothes and whorish make-up. Alcohol, soft pornography (R-rated movies, swim suit issues, etc), and violent video games fill many homes of church members. Yet these things are never discussed from the pulpit.

Teaching on holiness and separation unto the Lord is missing from our churches. Church discipline is almost non-existent in our day. The distinction between the church and the world, the holy and profane, is not just blurred, it is absent.

It is time for judgement to begin in the church.

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house 
of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them
