Should KJV Bible believers use the Greek and Hebrew Lexicons?

The KJV is my authority. But the Bible was written to specific audiences, in specific cultures, in specific times, using specific words. Every word God uses is crucial. They are not random.

Oikoumene or cosmos? Very important distinction in understanding the Bible, yet both are translated as "world." Dunamis or exousia - both translated as "power," yet two distinct words with distinct meanings. God chose specific words to convey specific thoughts. "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

Studying the original languages that underlie the KJV text does not make one any less a Bible believer. And it does not make the KJV any less my sole authority.

Here are two responses I received to this thought on Facebook. There is so much ignorance among so much of the KJV-Only camp because men like Ruckman and Gipp have convinced their followers to abandon scholarship. I encourage Bible believers to study into the words God uses to find the meaning he has for us.

The "Mark of the Beast" is NOT a microchip

Imagine, in 65 AD, the 7 churches of Asia received John's Revelation. As they read it they were astonished that 2000 years in the future, one of the two beasts of Revelation would require everyone to have microchips inserted in them. They were probably like, "Wow! Microchip technology! What's that?" The Book of Revelation was written to, and to be understood by, the seven churches of Asia. ANY interpretation that would have been foreign to them is foreign to the Bible.

Building Bible Doctrine On The White Spaces

Are we to build our doctrine on the white spaces between verses or on what the Bible actually says?

John Macarthur, preaching on Revelation, says, "Now we come to chapter 4, and we leave the Church Age. People always say, “Where, where does the rapture come in?” it’s in the white spaces between chapter 3 and 4. Yeah, the church on earth in chapter 2 and 3, and all of a sudden, we appear in heaven, and I want you to see what happens. The theme of Heaven is worship. We go from earth to heaven."

I have a real problem when doctrine is built on the "white space" between verses. We need to compare scripture to scripture, not white space to white space. When you build doctrine on what is not said, you are building on inference and even imagination.

We need to read what the Bible says. Every word is given for a reason. If something is not clearly stated, then there is a reason for that. The devil is in the "white spaces."
